Every batch IKONG ships is accompanied by a certificate of analysis (COA) — the document that turns a quality claim into verifiable data. A certificate is only useful if you know how to read it. This guide walks through each field you will find and what it tells you.
The header: batch and identity
At the top of every certificate is the batch (or lot) number. This is the thread that ties the document to one specific production run. If you can match the batch number on your vial to the batch number on the certificate, you know the data describes the exact material in your hand — not a representative sample from a different run.
The purity result
The purity figure is the HPLC result, expressed as a percentage. Alongside it you should find the chromatogram itself — the trace of peaks from the HPLC run. A clean certificate shows one dominant, sharp peak with minimal shoulders. Reading the chromatogram, rather than the summary number alone, is the mark of a careful researcher.
The identity result
The mass spectrometry section reports the measured molecular weight against the theoretical weight for the compound’s sequence. A match confirms the molecule’s identity. Some certificates include the full mass spectrum so you can see the parent ion directly.
Supporting fields
- Compound name and sequence — the peptide being certified.
- Test method — typically ‘HPLC + MS’.
- Date tested — when the analysis was performed.
- Testing laboratory — ideally an independent third party rather than the manufacturer.
Red flags
Be cautious of a certificate that is missing a batch number, shows no actual chromatogram or spectrum, cannot be matched to your vial, or comes only from the seller with no independent lab involved.
